CSK opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has shown brilliant consistency with the bat right from the beginning of IPL 2023. In the CSK vs DC game, Gaikwad played a scintillating knock of 79 runs and smashed hat-trick of sixes against Delhi Capitals’ spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

Ruturaj Gaikwad started his innings in a positive manner as he hit DC pacer Khaleel Ahmed for a neat boundary through square leg making his intentions pretty clear in the must win game. He then took on in-form spinner Axar Patel in the fourth over, smashing him for his first six of the day over extra cover.

Gaikwad kept the run-rate healthy smashing along with his partner Devon Conway as Chennai Super Kings scored 52 runs without any loss in the powerplay overs. After a few low-scoring overs, Gaikwad broke free against Axar, hitting him for two back-to-back maximums in the 10th over to get to his third fifty of the season.

However, he had saved his best to tackle the best bowler in the opponent bowling lineup. Kuldeep Yadav came in to bowl the 12th over of CSK innings. Ruturaj Gaikwad dispatched his third delivery over the long off boundary after Kuldeep bowled a floater in the slot.

The CSK opener smashed an even bigger six as he cleared his front foot out of the way against a tossed up delivery to hit a six over wide long on. Gaikwad then hit the third one straight over Kuldeep Yadav’s head, after the DC bowler pitched one in the slot outside off.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s hat-trick of sixes against Kuldeep Yadav set the tone for his as they aimed a big total in their last league game of IPL 2023. The CSK opener scored 79 runs off 50 balls, hitting 3 four and 7 maximums.
