13TH Match (N), Brisbane, Dec 23 2020, Big Bash League
BH VS ADS MATCH PREDICTION & ANALYSIS
2020 is a strange year and the Big Bash League has had to make some major adjustments to its schedule. As a result, this next match between Brisbane Heat and the Adelaide Strikers is going to be the first one played at the Gabba this season.
We think Brisbane Heat is going to be happy to be playing at home and is looking for its first win of the season. The Adelaide Strikers have lost two out of their three matches as well and have lacked consistency in their game.
Both the teams in this contest are flawed and that usually makes for a very exciting contest.
Brisbane Heat vs Adelaide Strikers BBL 2020-21 is going to be played at the Gabba, Brisbane on the 23rd of December 2020.
Brisbane Heat should have won its previous match against Sydney Thunder. It was in the driving seat for the large part but lost the plot in the end. Still, there are some major positives to take from that game.
Chris Lynn smashed 69 with five sixes and that is always a good sign. He loves batting at the Gabba and Heat fans should hope for some more big hits from him. We don’t like the rest of the Heat batting lineup that much, though.
Max Bryant and Sam Heazlett are not very convincing at the top of the order and far too inconsistent for our liking. Daniel Lawrence and Tom Cooper are also average leaving the middle-order a bit vulnerable in our opinion.
Jack Wildermuth is in great form, though, and seems to have taken his game to the next level. We are looking forward to seeing a lot more of him in this series as he contributes with the bat and ball.
Wildermuth picked up three wickets in the previous match that he played while most of the other bowlers were steady as well. Ben Laughlin, though, went for 56 runs in his 3.5 overs without picking up a single wicket.
Brisbane Heat needs him to find his best form as he is their designated death bowler.
The Strikers game an underwhelming performance against the Sydney Sixers in their previous match and suffered a heavy defeat. Wes Agar and Liam Scott went the distance while bowling and even Peter Siddle or Rashid Khan did not have a big impact on the match.
Daniel Worral was the only bowler that managed t impress and is someone to look out for in this upcoming match as well. The Adelaide Strikers bowling is not as good as we are used to seeing it and the lack of wickets for Rashid Khan in T20 matches is becoming the norm rather than a rarity.
He does not give away too many runs but is not being able to take the crucial wickets like he used to.
The Strikers started well with the bat in their previous match and then crumbled. We have no problems with the way their batting lineup is structured. Jake Weatherald and Philip Salt can provide some powerful starts while Alex Carey, Matt Renshaw, and Jonathan Wells can be a challenge for any bowling attack in the middle.
This is a batting lineup that is going to test most sides including Brisbane Heat.
The only real thing that the Adelaide Strikers need to work on is getting consistency into their performances.
PITCH AND CONDITIONS
There is no rain that is predicted for match day and so we should be able to enjoy an uninterrupted match. As far as the pitch goes, the Gabba always has some pace and bounce to offer. The bowlers can get something by putting in the effort and the batsmen can get value for their shots as well.
The large outfield and the extra bounce in the surface mean that spinners have a very good record at the venue.
BH VS ADS BETTING TIPS
We are going with the home team in this match although Brisbane Heat has not had the easiest of times at the Gabbe traditionally. The form of Chris Lynn is a big factor and we think that the Adelaide Strikers are a waning force as well.
There is a chance for Chris Lynn and his men to utilize the home conditions to their advantage.
Bet on Brisbane Heat to win.
