16TH MATCH 2020-21
27-DEC-2020, 08:15 PM
16TH Match (N), BRISBANE, Dec 27 2020, Big Bash League
BH VS HBH MATCH PREDICTION & ANALYSIS
It is an interesting match that we have to look forward to in the Big Bash league next. Brisbane Heat is going to be playing at home against the Hobart Hurricanes but the home team is the one that is really up against it.
Brisbane Heat has lost all three of its matches so far and is going to be without Chris Lynn for this match as well. The Hobart Hurricanes, on the other hand, have won three out of their four matches and are joint leaders of the league table right now.
Can Brisbane Heat find a way to stop the in-form Hurricanes?
Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes BBL 2020-21 is going to be played at the Gabba, Brisbane on the 27th of December 2020.
Brisbane Heat lost its previous match by just two runs while chasing down a total that was a bit under par. Of course, it needed a near miraculous inning from Jimmy Pierson for them to get that close.
Things are not looking for Brisbane Heat heading into this match.
They have a batting lineup that cannot be trusted. Sure, some of their players are dangerous but almost none of them have ever been consistent or been able to stitch together a big season full of runs.
Without Lynn, the batting is underwhelming and not something that we can bank on.
The bowling has been doing okay so far but it is going to be tested against the strong Hobart Hurricanes batting as well. Mark Steketee, Jack Wildermuth, and Mujeeb ur Rahman have been good but the lack of form from Ben Laughlin is a big concern as well.
As things stand, Brisbane Heat cannot score runs consistently and cannot defend runs at the death. It is not going to win too many matches this way.
We think the Hobart Hurricanes have been one of the most impressive teams of the BBL season so far. They have been very good with the bat with runs from almost all of their batsmen and their bowling has a great amount of depth too.
They are also the kind of team that is going to enjoy the bounce and pace at the Gabba.
We are looking forward to seeing Riley Meredith, James Faulkner, and Scott Boland unleash hell at the fast Gabba wicket.
Ben McDermott is batting very well and is currently in the same kind of form that saw him find a place in the Australian international team. Darcy Short, Will Jacks, Ben McDermott, Peter Handscomb, Tim David, and Colin Ingram form one of the strongest batting order in the entire competition.
The Hobart Hurricanes just need to worry against complacency and falling prey to going too hard too fast with the bat.
PITCH AND CONDITIONS
The conditions at the Gabba are going to be very good for cricket. There is some rain around and we could see a few interruptions but nothing major is on the horizon. The pitch is going to be hard and fast with a lot of bounce in it.
Such a surface allows both the batsmen and the bowlers to have a chance and provide some exciting cricket.
BH VS HBH BETTING TIPS
We have no hesitation in backing the Hobart Hurricanes in this contest. They have a better batting lineup by far and their bowling is also in pretty good form. We think James Faulkner is the player to watch out for with the ball while Ben McDermott remains the most dangerous batsmen on their team.
Bet on the Hobart Hurricanes to win.
