BRISBANE HEAT VS MELBOURNE STARS Match Betting Predictions 2020

32ND MATCH 2020-21

07-JAN-2021, 08:15 AM

32nd Match (N), MELBOURNE, Jan 07 2021, Big Bash League

The thirty second match of the Big Bash League 2020-21 season is going to be played between the Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat. There has been a big blow to Heat as England batsman Tom Banton has pulled out of the BBL citing ‘bubble fatigue’.

The Melbourne Stars are going to have most of their big players available for the first few matches which is not something they are really used to as the limited-overs matches have preceded the Test Matches this time around.

Which team will be able to start with a win?

Melbourne Stars vs Brisbane Heat BBL 2020-21 is going to be played at the Carrara Oval, Queensland on the 07th of January 2021

The Melbourne Stars were a very strong unit in the previous season, and we believe they have only gotten stronger this time around. There are some T20 giants in the Melbourne Stars that are going to lead the way for them this season.

Glenn Maxwell has been in tremendous form against the Indians while Marcus Stoinis has recovered from his injury and should be back at his preferred opening position.

Jonny Bairstow is not going to be available for this match but Nicholas Pooran should be there. The young West Indian left-hander can smash the ball from the word-go and is going to be one to watch this season.

Ben Dunk, Hilton Cartwright, and Nic Maddinson add a lot of Aussie batting depth to the team as well.

There is something that the Melbourne Stars love about Pakistani fast-bowlers. They gave Haris Rauf his first big stage to perform and now Dilbar Hussain is getting another season to try and make an impact.

Nathan Coulter-Nile, Adam Zampa, and Billy Stanlake are excellent homegrown bowlers as well. Zahir Khan may the beneficiary of the extra overseas slot this year in the BBL.

We know what Brisbane Heat brings to the table every season as it puts together a very strong batting lineup led by Chris Lynn. Unfortunately, that strategy has become a bit tired and it is difficult to see how things will turn out to be different for Brisbane Heat this season.

Chis Lynn is dangerous, yes, but is he the same batsman he was at his peak? We don’t think so.

Max Bryant has yet to crack the code of consistency while players like Joe Burns and Marnus Labuschagne are going to be missing because of their Test Match duties. Tom Cooper, Sam Heazlett, and Jimmy Pierson are some other bowlers that may be asked to step up this season.

All of these players have played BBL cricket for a number of seasons without ever making a big impact and so to expect them to do so now would be a bit optimistic.

Mark Steketee, Mitchell Swepson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Ben Laughlin lead what is a pretty decent bowling attack. If the batsmen can do their job then the bowlers may be able to bring around the rear.

Overall, we are not very optimistic about Brisbane Heat’s chances and think the team is going to struggle.

The conditions are going to be in favor of the batsmen. The Carrara Oval had some extra bounce on the surface that made batting interesting and kept the bowlers in the game. Overall, though, the small boundaries are going to be enticing for the batsmen of both sides.

A score of around 175-180 should be par.

We are going to go with the Melbourne Stars in this one. They have a very strong batting lineup with some proven T20 match-winners. They also have a decent bowling attack that can be very effective on most days.

Bet on the Melbourne Stars to win.
