Chennai Super Kings

CSK has lost two of its top players in the last few months. While MS Dhoni was not retained for IPL 2023, he had been a part of CSK for the past two seasons and was a huge contributor to their success. The franchise also lost English all-rounder Ben Stokes who had helped CSK reach the finals in both 2018 and 2019.
CSK has also traded away some of their lesser-known players like Washington Sundar and Deepak Chahar who played pivotal roles in previous seasons but have since been replaced by more well-known names such as Jasprit Bumrah and Suresh Raina, respectively.

Delhi Capitals

Last year, Delhi Capitals were one of the most exciting and entertaining teams in IPL 2020. The team finished 3rd in the table, with a 10-8 win-loss record and went on to beat Kolkata Knight Riders in the playoff final. In IPL 2021, they continued their good form by finishing 2nd in the league table with 12 wins out of 14 matches. So far this season, Delhi Capitals have won 7 out of 9 games and are currently 1st in the league table. They are also leading on points difference (+19) so there is no doubt that they will qualify for playoffs again this year.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Kolkata Knight Riders have a rich history of success, but in IPL 2023 they will need to make some difficult decisions as they try to keep their best players and maintain their position at the top of the league. With several key players getting closer to retirement and a brand new player draft system, it is unclear whether any of the current squads will be able to keep their best players. The team has signed an agreement with Kings XI Punjab that will allow them access to select players from that team, but the lack of available talent in this year’s player draft means that it may not be enough. There are rumors that other teams are looking for a chance at playing against KKR in IPL 2023, which could mean even more trades before the season starts.

Mumbai Indians

With the IPL season coming up in a few months, teams are looking to secure their stars and retain them. The Mumbai Indians (MI) have been trying to do that by signing up players from around the world. Recently, they signed up Sri Lanka’s Milinda Siriwardena for a three-year contract for a sum of INR 3 crores. They also acquired England’s Jason Roy who will play for them for the next two years at INR 8 crores. With these new signings, MI seems confident and ready for IPL Betting 2023. But it is not just about securing key players. It is also about player retention which was a difficult task last year when some star players left the team like Evin Lewis, JP Duminy and Rashid Khan. There are speculations on whether some more might leave this time round as well with contracts expiring soon and other offers being offered. One such player who has been linked with various clubs is Rohit Sharma who has yet to sign an extension with MI but is said to be negotiating with Delhi Daredevils (DD).

Rajasthan Royals

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are one of the most successful teams in IPL history. The team has won two tournaments, including the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League and was runners-up in 2016. They were also finalists in 2017 and 2018, missing out on the trophy by a whisker on both occasions. SRH has a strong core of players like Kane Williamson, Deepak Hooda, Shakib Al Hasan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. With them set to retain most of their key players this season, they should have another good run at the IPL.
The Kolkata Knight Riders had an incredible run during this period but their success is largely down to their captain Gautam Gambhir and other stars like Andre Russell who will not be retained after this season.
And then there is Mumbai Indians who have had a long-term relationship with Kieron Pollard as well as Ambati Rayudu who will not stay back for the next season. With stars such as Rohit Sharma likely to leave too, MI will need all their other star players from overseas and domestic cricketers to step up if they are going to continue dominating in the league for years to come.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB have many highly sought-after players in their squad. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are both IPL veterans, having played for RCB for six years, and both are among the top three most valuable players in the tournament. Kohli is currently ranked as the most valuable player at ₹11 crores while de Villiers is ranked third at ₹6 crores. There are plenty of other top-flight batsmen who will undoubtedly tempt RCB with offers during this player retention window. But what about their bowling department? Mitchell Starc has been one of RCB’s standout performers over the last few seasons, and he too has indicated that he would like to stay put.
