Moises Henriques recently shared his thoughts on the four-game suspension imposed on Tom Curran during the ongoing BBL season. In an interview with Fox Sports, Henriques expressed his surprise at the severity of the penalty, stating, “I didn’t think much of it at the time. I don’t think anyone else did. I’ve seen the ten-second clip; it doesn’t look great, but you can’t quite understand the context there either.”

Curran, an English cricketer playing for Sydney Sixers, faced a Level 3 offense charge under Cricket Australia’s code of conduct due to a pre-match incident involving a near collision with a reserve umpire. The incident’s footage circulated widely on social media, drawing criticism from fans, but Henriques defended Curran, emphasizing their history together at Surrey and Sixers, stating, “He’s a great man, he’s a real leader in the community, he’s a leader among our team.”

Henriques also shed light on the toll the suspension had taken on Curran, revealing, “It’s been a pretty tough time for TC – the last 11 days – sitting on this and knowing what he’s like, he’s taken it to heart; he’s really worried about the assassination of the character there.”

Expressing dissatisfaction with the delayed hearing, Henriques announced plans for an appeal, asserting, “All of the players and all of our staff are behind him.”

The situation surrounding Curran’s suspension continues to spark debate within the cricket community, with Henriques standing by his teammate and offering support during this challenging time.
