SYDNEY SIXERS VS BRISBANE HEAT Match Betting Predictions 2020

35TH MATCH 2020-21

10-JAN-2021, 08:15 AM

35TH Match (N), Queensland, Jan 10 2021, Big Bash League

2020 is a strange year and the Big Bash League has had to make some major adjustments to its schedule. As a result, this next match between Brisbane Heat and the Sydney Sixers is going to be the first one played at the Gabba this season.

We think Brisbane Heat is going to be happy to be playing at home and is looking for its first win of the season. The Sydney Sixers have lost two out of their three matches as well and have lacked consistency in their game.

Both the teams in this contest are flawed and that usually makes for a very exciting contest.

Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers BBL 2020-21 is going to be played at the Carrara oval, Queensland on the 10th of January 2021.

Brisbane Heat should have won its previous match against Sydney Thunder. It was in the driving seat for the large part but lost the plot in the end. Still, there are some major positives to take from that game.

Chris Lynn smashed 69 with five sixes and that is always a good sign. He loves batting at the Gabba and Heat fans should hope for some more big hits from him. We don’t like the rest of the Heat batting lineup that much, though.

Max Bryant and Sam Heazlett are not very convincing at the top of the order and far too inconsistent for our liking. Daniel Lawrence and Tom Cooper are also average leaving the middle-order a bit vulnerable in our opinion.

Jack Wildermuth is in great form, though, and seems to have taken his game to the next level. We are looking forward to seeing a lot more of him in this series as he contributes with the bat and ball.

Wildermuth picked up three wickets in the previous match that he played while most of the other bowlers were steady as well. Ben Laughlin, though, went for 56 runs in his 3.5 overs without picking up a single wicket.

Brisbane Heat needs him to find his best form as he is their designated death bowler.

The Sydney Sixers could not have asked for a better match than they played against the Melbourne Renegades. All of their batsmen that had missed out in the opening game scored runs and the bowlers were absolutely brilliant as well.

Josh Philippe scored 95 to headline the inning but contributions from Daniel Hughes and Jordan Silk cannot be overlooked either. In fact, Jordan Silk’s 45 from 19 deliveries was what pushed the total over 200.

The Sixers are going to look to continue in the same vein in this match. All of their batsmen now have runs to their name in BBL 2020-21 which is a great sign for them moving forward.

Steve O’Keeffe, Ben Dwarshius, Gurinder Sandhu, and Carlos Brathwaite had a great outing but we do think there are some weaknesses here to exploit. None of the pace bowlers in the team have any real pace and can be expensive frequently.

The pressure to pick early wickets is always going to be on the Sydney Sixers otherwise they are going to struggle.

There is no rain that is predicted for match day and so we should be able to enjoy an uninterrupted match. As far as the pitch goes, the Gabba always has some pace and bounce to offer. The bowlers can get something by putting in the effort and the batsmen can get value for their shots as well.

The large outfield and the extra bounce in the surface mean that spinners have a very good record at the venue.

We are going with the home team in this match although Brisbane Heat has not had the easiest of times at the Gabbe traditionally. The form of Chris Lynn is a big factor and we think that the Sydney Sixers are a waning force as well.

There is a chance for Chris Lynn and his men to utilize the home conditions to their advantage.

Bet on Brisbane Heat to win.
