Dean Elgar – Vice-captain , Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen (wicketkeeper), Cameron Delport, Dane Paterson. Jason Behrendorff, Duanne Olivier and Wayne Parnell are part of the provisional squad for the tournament.
Imran Tahir is part of the provisional squad for the tournament. He was not considered in their previous international fixtures this year due to injury but is expected to be fit before the start of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Aiden Markram will lead South Africa in their three warm-up games against Ireland, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

New Zealand

With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup just around the corner, it’s time to get up to date on which players will be representing their respective countries. New Zealand has an incredible record in this tournament, as they have won four of the seven previous editions. With a squad filled with a mixture of experience and youth, they are looking like one of the favorites to take home the trophy this year. For example, Trent Boult is one of the most experienced players in New Zealand cricket today and has a bowling average of 22.5 with an economy rate below 5.5 runs per over across his 52 innings.

West Indies

Zimbabwe was granted automatic qualification as the host nation, and they are in Group B with Ireland, Afghanistan, and the Netherlands. Zimbabwe will be looking to replicate their success from the 2015 tournament where they made it to the quarterfinals. They are ranked ninth in the world and have some experienced players who played for other nations before joining Zimbabwe, including Sikandar Raza, who captained Pakistan at the 2003 tournament.

Afghanistan (Qualified as hosts)

Afghanistan was awarded the 20-over Cricket World Cup in October 2015. They will be hosting the tournament for the first time and no other country will have a better opportunity to win the trophy than Afghanistan. There are six players from Afghanistan’s national cricket team currently playing at the international level, and they are led by captain Asghar Stanikzai. However, it is not clear whether these players will participate in this event or not due to security concerns. Nevertheless, there is hope that they will be able to get visas if they apply early enough.

Zimbabwe (Qualified as hosts)

Zimbabwe qualified automatically as the hosts of the event and will go on to play in their first-ever international T20 tournament. They were drawn into a group with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Scotland.
Zimbabwe’s key players include Brendan Taylor, who has been playing for English county side Hampshire for two seasons now, as well as Malcolm Waller who plays for Glamorgan. Given Zimbabwe’s inexperience at this level of cricket, it is very likely that they will be relying heavily on these two batsmen to get them through the tournament.

Pakistan

Fakhar Zaman has been in excellent form for Pakistan and is one of just three players who have won all five men’s international Twenty20 matches they have played. His latest century, against England at Lord’s, was his fourth in the format. He shared an unbroken opening partnership of 202 with Imam-ul-Haq to help set up a world-record run chase. As well as being an aggressive batsman, Zaman also bowls left-arm orthodox spinners which makes him a valuable asset to any side. Azam went on to claim 3/26 with his right arm off break bowling against Afghanistan, making him the highest wicket-taker among Pakistani bowlers at this tournament so far.
