But the action isn’t confined to the group stage. The top two teams from each group will make their way to the Super Four stage, and from there, the best two teams will advance to the ultimate face-off – the final!

What about our beloved Men in Blue? Look out for our skipper, Yash Dhull. Remember him? The one who led our U-19 team to World Cup victory back in 2022? He’ll be leading India again in this tournament. Another one to watch out for is the stylish left-hander B. Sai Sudharsan. Born out of the Asian Cricket Council’s vision to promote goodwill among Asian countries in 1983, the Asia Cup became a remarkable platform for showcasing Asian cricket prowess. This championship is unique because it’s the only continental championship in cricket, and it alternates every two years between One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) formats.

The inaugural Asia Cup took place in 1984 in the United Arab Emirates, and wouldn’t you know it, our boys in blue clinched the title. But it’s not always been smooth sailing – the 1986 tournament saw India boycotting due to strained cricketing relations with Sri Lanka, and both the 1990-91 and the 1993 tournaments were marred by political tension.

Since 2016, the tournament format has been rotating between ODI and T20I, syncing with the format of upcoming world events. This has brought a fresh twist to the competition, stirring up even more intrigue among cricket enthusiasts.

India, with a whopping seven titles, holds the crown as the most successful team in the tournament. Sri Lanka trails closely behind with six titles, while Pakistan has managed to secure two titles.
