Happening between August 17 and September 25, 2023, this year’s CPL is all set to be hosted across five different Caribbean countries – one more than the previous year. A warm welcome back to Barbados, which is hosting CPL matches for the first time since 2019.
Before we move further, let’s take a look back. The current champions are the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, who clinched their 1st title in 2022. But the Trinbago Knight Riders are the most successful team in the CPL, with a whopping 4 titles to their name.
Fasten your seatbelts because the defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs and the Trinbago Knight Riders are both back this year to give it another shot, and they both have three titles under their belts. Now that’s some hot competition!
As for the teams, we’ve got power-packed squads from Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, St Lucia Kings, and Trinbago Knight Riders. From established international players to emerging local talent, these squads are chock full of cricketing potential.
For all you home-ground fans out there, this CPL season follows a home & away format. Saint Lucia Kings have a great opportunity to capitalise on this, playing four of their six matches at home.
