Test Cricket Player Of The Year

The Test Cricket Player Of The Year is awarded to a player who has been judged by an independent panel of experts to be the best in Test Cricket over 12 months.
The following players were nominated for September 2022:
Mohammad Amir (Pakistan)
Imran Tahir (South Africa)
Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka)
Joe Root (England)
Jason Holder (West Indies)

Cricketer Of The Year

No one was more consistent than the Australian opener, David Warner. The left-handed batsman had been in scintillating form for a few months now, and he maintained his high standards in September as well. He struck five centuries in six innings, including four consecutive hundreds. His most eye-catching performance came against New Zealand where he scored an unbeaten 214 at Perth. With this knock, Warner surpassed Ricky Ponting to become Australia’s third-highest run scorer in Tests.
Women’s Player Of The Year
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has awarded the title Women’s Player Of The Year to England player Amy Jones. Jones scored a total of 577 runs in the month, the most in any month this year by an England player. In September, she scored two centuries and one half-century for her team. She also captained three matches during the month, winning two and losing one. Jones is currently ranked third on ICC’s Player Rankings for Women’s ODI all-rounders list. She was also included in ICC’s Team of the Tournament for the World Cup 2019 Qualifiers played earlier this year.

Emerging Player Of The Year

The Emerging Player Of The Year Award is given to a player who has shown potential and consistency in their performances but hasn’t yet made an impact on the international stage. This year’s award goes to Ireland’s Conor Murray, who has been Ireland’s mainstay at scrum-half for many years. His performance for Munster against Saracens this season was outstanding, with his decision-making and reliability under pressure being key factors in that match. With Johnny Sexton starting for Leinster in recent weeks, Murray will be looking forward to getting more game time with Ireland next season.
This year’s winner is Scotland’s Dave Denton.
